Stainless Steel Spacers: B-500
Metal spacers (SP parts), with outside diameters of 1.875a and inside diameters of 1.27a, are essentially short tubes which slip over either the ceramic or metal rods, and are
intended as an additional way of spacing metal plates. Rigid structures can be made by alternating metal and ceramic spacers on one or more ceramic rods. Since metal spacers
are less costly than ceramic spacers, it is frequently desirable to use a long metal spacer in series with a small ceramic spacer to provide wide insulated gaps between plates.
