Kimball Physics ion guns are used in fields such as ion scattering, nanotechnology, micro-machining, secondary ion mass spectrometry and ion injection for MBE. Ion guns are sold with matching power supplies to insure optimal performance. These complete subsystems can be mounted on a user-supplied vacuum chamber or on a Kimball Physics Multi-CF vacuum chamber, designed for maximum internal volume to accommodate all equipment needs. Ion guns come in two varieties:

• Electron impact gas ionization sources
• Alkali metal ionization sources
